Comments: First off, I put a 5 for customer service. Now I did not have to call
nor talk to customer service. So in a way this selection was not applicable, but
I believe it says something when a customer does not NEED to talk to customer
service. So I selected a rating of 5. For those interested, I ordered a Compass,
a fire starter and the Steripen. I was happy with all items. Everything arrived
amazingly fast, and I entrust this to the speed in which my order was passed
onto the courier service. Basegear was very much on the ball when it came to
processing my order. Everything was packaged in a single cardboard box, with
lots of packing peanuts on all sides of the items. About my only complaint with
Basegear is that they do not have some sort of customer rating/review section
for each product. I ALWAYS have to read what others before me have said about a
given product. The customers who use gear in the field offer a much more
realistic idea about the product. So beyond having to find items on other sites
to read the reviews to allow me to makeup my mind, Basegear has a very nice site
that exceeded my expectations. I will be buying from them in the future.

experience overall. My only gripe is they have no customer service phone number
if you want to talk to a live person about your order and they have a pretty
strict policy on returns, so be aware of that when placing your orders. Shipping

(Mountain Hardwear Lamina -30), a couple of MSR Packtowl Ultralite towels and a
couple of Katadyn Klean foaming hand sanitizers. Top rate gear. Everything
delivered fits descriptions by the shop and meets my expectations entirely. It
has taken just two weeks with USPS Priority Mail to get order shipped even to
Ukraine (a post Soviet Union country). Sometimes it takes months here. It seems
the gear is inspected before shipping as a sleeping bag mislabeling problem has
been detected by the staff in another order. The service staff are easy to reach
and do their job well. Real discounts up to 20% have pleased me much. I am in
the process of a next purchase at the BaseGear.com at present. Well done :-)

smoothly and the item was shipped FAST. It was a Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man
jacket and when it arrived, I found that it was a little smaller than I thought
(atheletic cut). They have a different exchange process where you need to get a
RMA then send the item back and purchase a new one in a new order. Went through
the exchange process and sent a mail to let them know Im exchanging not
returning so they wont charge me for the free gift I got earlier. Very fast,
friendly and helpful responses. Got the new jacket in a few more days and my CC

Comments: I would like more shipping options--maybe UPSP Priority Mail or DHS. I
have had bad experiences with UPS and would rather not have my products shipped
via UPS. In addition, the box arrived all smashed up, which deformed the bag.
Itll probably take some time and effort to bring the bag back to its original
shape. I didnt contact Basegear.com about the condition of the bag because if
they chose to remedy the situation I did not want to hassle with sending the bag
back and receiving another one. Its a great product, and I wanted to use it

Comments: In Australia there is not a distributor of the AMK Bivvy bags. A
number of us in the Audax club who are doing the Paris Brest Paris randonnee
were keen to purchase these bags. Freigh costs down under are a killer. By
negotiating a group buy we were able to spread the shipping costs across 20 or
so bags at a time which make the deal much more cost effective. The crew at
BaseGear were most helpful at every stage of the process. The tracking system
worked well and when one batch of the bags landed up getting sidelined by
customs I was able to figure what had happened and therefore had an agent lined
up to clear them quickly. Will defineitley buy more stuff from BaseGear in the
